Provincial Incentives • Efficiency NB (1-866-643-8833) offers a $400 subsidy toward the cost of a home energy audit. The cost to the homeowner is between $50-100 depending on the size of the house. Federal Incentives The Office of Energy Efficiency (1-800-O-CANADA) offers incentives of: • $200 to $1,500 for Insulating Replace your heating equipment with the following ENERGY STAR® qualified products: • $150 - $500: gas furnace • $300 - $600: oil or gas boiler • $150 - $500: oil furnace • $3,500: ground- or water-source heat pump • $400: air-source heat pump • $30: installation of a minimum of 5 electronic thermostats for electric baseboard heaters • $30: installation of a minimum of 5 electronic thermostats for electric baseboard heaters • $300: replacement of a wood-burning appliance with a model that meets either CSA or EPA wood-burning appliance standards • up to $2,850 for conversion of a central heating system to natural gas • $560 for installing a natural gas water heater • $250 for removal of a domestic oil tank when converting a central heating system from oil to natural gas • up to $1,140 for installation of a natural gas pool heater Cooling • $200 for the replacement of a central air conditioner with an ENERGY STAR® qualified unit • $20 for replacement of window air conditioner(s) with an ENERGY STAR® qualified unit(s) Ventilation • $300 for installation of a heat recovery ventilator that is certified by the Home Water • $200 for replacement of a domestic hot water heater with an instantaneous gas water heater that has an energy factor (EF) of 0.80 or better • Install a drain-water heat recovery (DWHR) system. Grants are based on the length of the pipe installed Renewable Energy • $500 for installation a solar domestic hot water system that meets CAN/CSA Standards Mortgage Insurance Refund Canada Mortgage Housing Corporation (CMHC) offers a 10% premium refund on its mortgage loan insurance premiums, as well as extended amortization to a maximum of 40 years (subject to lender availability), to individuals who use CMHC-insured financing to purchase an energy efficient home, purchase a home and make energy-saving renovations, or renovate their existing home to make it more energy efficient. The refund is a one-time payment.
